Churchgoers from around the Diocese were having to 'stay put' after the annual Christian Aid sponsored walk was cancelled.
Matthew is all Stoked up after four hundred people gathered in Lichfield Cathedral on Tuesday evening to witness his Collation, Induction and Welcome as Archdeacon of Stoke-upon-Trent and his Installation as an Honorary Canon.
With over four centuries of experience between them, sixteen Lay Readers were given special recognition at Lichfield Cathedral on Saturday. Another eight were formally welcomed to the diocese and one was licensed for the first time.
Leominster Priory will be the central venue for the event which is being advertised to churches and tourism organisations across the country. Workshops will also use other nearby heritage buildings.
On 29 September, six long-serving priests were made Prebendaries of Lichfield Cathedral by Bishop Jonathan with the Dean, Adrian Dorber.
