Public Notices (Rule 9.9 of the Faculty Jurisdiction Rules)

The Public Notices section contains the notices where the Registrar or Chancellor have directed that in addition to ordinary notice at the Church etc, formal notice should be given under Rule 9.9 of the Faculty Jurisdiction Rules 2015 through publication on the Diocesan Website. These are cases where the Petition involves (i) the demolition of a listed building, or of an unlisted building in a conservation area; (ii) alteration to a Grade 1 or 2* listed building, or to the exterior of a Grade 2 listed building to such an extent that it would be likely to affect its character as a building of special architectural or historic interest.

The Public Notices will be displayed by the Registry with a brief about the particular case. There is a 21 day period within which objection can be made. Objection should be made by sending a letter or email of objection to the Registrar at the address on the front page of the Registry section, before the closing date specified. The objection must include your name and address and state whether you live in the parish and/or your name is entered on the church electoral roll of the parish, or any other basis on which you have an interest in the matter.

The Public Notices will be taken down once a decision has been reached by the Chancellor on the Petition.
