Urgent works permission

Coronavirus (COVID-19) and church buildings

  • Please see the dedicated web page on Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance for church buildings in Lichfield Diocese
  • The existing procedure below is for urgent works not relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Church buildings and churchyards

An enquiry or request for urgent works to a church or churchyard, such as after metal theft or vandalism, should be made direct to the Diocesan Registry (rather than the DAC Office).

Where applicable, the Diocesan Registry Assistant will issue an interim faculty application form to the applicant, which will capture the information required by the Diocesan Chancellor. The applicant will then be advised to create an 'outline' faculty application on the Online Faculty System (OFS), to which they should upload the completed interim faculty form and supporting documents, and contact the Registry Assistant to indicate that this been done.

For further information or advice, please contact:

Phil Collins, Diocesan Registry Assistant
01902 702033 philip.collins@fbcmb.co.uk

or see the Registry web pages

Please note: There is a separate approved procedure for emergency works to churches and churchyards in the Diocese of Lichfield.
