Diocesan Day of Prayer (23-24 April from 7am to 7am)

Date: 23rd April 2021

Time: 7:00am

Churches, schools, chaplaincies and everyone across the diocese are invited to join a 24-hour Diocesan Day of Prayer on 23/24 April, starting on 23rd at 7am.

Deaneries are playing a central part in Shaping for Mission, so it seems appropriate that they should be central to our day of prayer. Rural Deans, Lay Chairs and Shaping for Mission Facilitators have been asked to prepare sessions of 30 mins or an hour if preferred, to pray for the fulfilment of our diocesan vision in their context. We hope to have a deanery somewhere in the diocese praying for most of the 24 hours!

See the table below to find out when your Deanery is pledged to pray … and join in!

Specific groups such as diocesan departments, chaplaincies, schools, fresh expressions, the cathedral and our partners overseas have also agreed to take an hour’s slot.

Many of these prayer sessions will be via Zoom, and everyone is most welcome to join them. There will also be information on the Diocesan Facebook page.

We would love to hear from individuals, local groups and churches who may pledge to pray alone, in small physical or larger online groups. Please contact Denise Keen for details, to request a slot and for the joining details for Zoom.
