Staff photos

We take and hold staff photos for a variety of uses that further the aims of the diocese in serving the parishes, schools, chaplaincies and fresh expressions we serve:

  • to help visitors to St Mary's House recognise people they have come to meet through the new display screen in the  entrance hall
  • to show team members on the diocesan website - it helps remind grumpy website users that they're talking to real people when they call/email, hopefully resulting in more polite and satisfying interactions
  • to identify staff on CMS and other future potential uses (eg should it be decided staff lanyards should be issued to all)
  • to illustrate authors on articles for parish magazines which are then usually on website at the Chad Blog and shared on our social media.
  • occasionally shared with other dioceses, the CofE's national comms team and other media for newsworthy purposes

For all but the last two of those, we only use photos taken in the 'house style' for consistency.

Once taken by the comms team's designated photographer, you'll have been sent a link to check them before they are added to the website, CMS etc.

Most of us don't like looking at photos of ourselves or having our photos taken, but take comfort in the fact we are usually our own worst critics, and most of our friends, family and colleagues appreciate you just as you are. It is good practice to have your photo updated every five years or so - but do ask at any time if you'd like another option sooner, or radically change your hair/beard style!

Please indicate in the boxes below using the file names:

  • one or more that you'd prefer to be used. For senior staff (bishops, archdeacons etc) we prefer to have both cheerful and serious expressions on file
  • any you really dislike and would prefer us to delete completely - we will do exactly that
  • some folk manage to relax or have a bit of fun while in front of the camera - do indicate any that we can keep for fun /social / internal use.
  • There are occasionally people who for good security or safeguarding reasons don't want their photo in the public domain - if that's you, please tick the box on the form AND have a word with the CEO or Director of Comms.
