Reverend Prebendary Dr Jane Tillier has been appointed to the role of Bishop's Adviser on Pastoral Care and Well-Being. She will succeed Revd Preb Jeff Leonardi, and assumes her post in July this year.

Her job will involve providing pastoral care to clergy and their families, offering encouragement on all aspects of pastoral ministry and personal issues, overseeing the network of Diocesan approved counsellors, caring for clergy families, considering pre-retirement issues and designing well-being events.

The role will also add weight and support on important safeguarding issues, ensuring a continued robust approach towards the safeguarding of children, vulnerable adults, and other people at risk.

The Bishop of Lichfield, Rt Revd Jonathan Gledhill said: "I am delighted that Jane has agreed to bring her dedication, experience and great skill to this role. Pastoral care is extremely important as we meet the challenges of the coming decade."
