I have moved to Stoke on Trent to reopen All Saints as a Resource Church for the city. I am keen to build a church where people encounter God in worship, make deep friendships with each other and serve on mission together. All Saints seeks to be good for the city of Stoke and to play our part in the revitalisation of the city and the diocese. Before training for ordination I was a youth worker in London and in Northern Ireland (where I grew up). I am married to Beth and we have two children who are 7 and 2, and a 10 year old rescue dog. I have a keen interest in sport, especially F1 but also football, golf, cricket and athletics.
The context
This is an exciting opportunity to join a charismatic, missional, church plant towards the start of its journey and to spend your curacy joining in with God as He revitalises the city of Stoke-on-Trent. All Saints has received funding from the National Church with a missional focus towards students and young adults. Building work at both the main church and adjacent hall is required and so this will be a pioneering role to kickstart mission, position for growth and work across the breadth of church ministries.
The church will work in close partnership with the Encounter Project which is seeking to develop new worshipping communities within local schools and so will aim to be missional to young families. There will be opportunities to work in areas that utilise your existing skills and strengths as well as to be stretched in other areas that will aid your vocation. We are looking for someone who will help position the church for growth, be excited about raising up volunteers and building teams, and bring energy to the vision of All Saints which exists to be a place of worship, friendship and wholeness for Stoke.
