We are saddened to learn of the death from pancreatic cancer of the Bishop of Sabah. Lichfield Diocese was linked with Sabah (Northern Borneo) up until 2008 and we continue, as friends, praying for Bishop Albert Vun’s family and for the Diocese. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
The Diocese of Sabah posted this announcement:
Dearest brothers and sisters in Christ,
Bishop Albert Vun Cheong Fui was called home to be with the Lord on 15th July 2014 at 4:10pm.
We thank God that our Bishop ended strongly in his calling and ministry.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day---and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

The Community of Saint Chad are encouraging people to join together on three occasions every year to pray
for the Diocese, church and community. The next opportunity will be to do a Midsummer Prayer Walk….
pray for your parish, place of work and community by walking the streets or ‘beating the bounds’.
We suggest doing this around Midsummer’s day. Resources are available here.
We are most grateful for people submitting contributions for the Diocesan Prayer Diary.
The Diary is now produced one month in advance and this will make it even easier for these issues to be included in your prayers when organising your orders of service.
Thank you for your support and if you have any further comments, suggestions or prayer requests please forward these to us by email.
The Anglican Cycle of Prayer which includes daily prayer for the entire Anglican Communion can be found here.
