This two-day training explores the Church of England Vision for Education: Deeply Christian, Serving the Common Good.

The course is aimed at school leaders and governors and will support you in developing your understanding of the vision and what this means for your school.

My Role as a Governor, 10th January 2018

The day will enable you to explore the role of a governor in a Church of England school or academy. We will support you in exploring your responsibilities in monitoring and evaluating all aspects of school within an Anglican educational context. We will also look at how the OFSTED and SIAMS agenda can support each other and explore areas of the Governance Handbook.

Vision for Education

This day looks at the Church of England Vision for Education, ‘Deeply Christian, Serving the Common Good.’We will enable to you understand the role of a governor in a Church of England school or academy. We will empower you to think about how you can develop strategies to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of your curriculum and wider provision for your students and communities.

SIAMS and Worship

The day will focus on the new SIAMS framework and collective worship. We will encourage you to identify your current practice in terms of monitoring and evaluation and look at how you can use the new impact statements to support your school self-evaluation. Guidance on the new SIAMS will also be provided. 

Stonewall Training

Tackling Homophobic, Biphobic and Transphobic bullying and language, Stonewall have very kindly offered to run another of their very successful free training events. The course will cover the law, what Ofsted say and the updated CofE document ‘Valuing All God’s Children 2’
