House for Duty Vicar: Alstonfield, Ilam and Wetton

Is it time to get out of the town and head to the hills?!

If so this opportunity could be for you!

Live and work in the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands. Be the spiritual guide to the congregations of 3 historic churches set in rural communities, predominantly based on farming and tourism. The Church is important here, but sometimes it’s just the buildings that people focus on, we want to make it so much more than that.

  • We are seeking leadership but we work together well and have a committed Lay Reader, so you won’t have to do it all – guide us using the skills we’ve gained.
  • We have a regular service plan, but are open to new ideas.
  • You’ll be part of the collegial Ministry Team in the new development of the Deanery as a ‘Rural Mission Area’.
  • A comfortable house in Alstonefield with garden and fabulous view.

About you

  • Keen to get to know people – be part of village life – whether out for a walk or joining clubs and activities.
  • Engage with children in our local schools, and provide pastoral care for parishioners.
  • Being practical and approachable will help.
  • You will need a car as public transport is limited.
