Racial Justice and Inclusion – Different Perspectives
This year’s lecture will take place on Thursday 28 November in Lichfield Cathedral. It will be an opportunity to hear from different speakers discussing racial justice and inclusion.
- Revd Dr Evie Vernon O’Brien the new Regional Racial Justice Director for the six West Midlands Dioceses (Lichfield, Birmingham, Worcester, Coventry, Gloucester & Hereford) will speak about the initial and ongoing work of the Regional West Midlands racial Justice Team.
- The Rt Revd Dr Tim Wambunya, our new Bishop of Wolverhampton will be sharing his experiences of intercultural mission and worship.
- Following his visit to New Zealand, Bishop Michael will be reflecting on the legacy of George Augustus Selwyn, the First Bishop of New Zealand and subsequently Bishop of Lichfield, and the reception of his ministry among the Maori people.
- There will also be an update on the work of the diocese’s Racial Justice and Inclusion Task Group along with worship led by the Revd Preb Adrian and Esther Stone.
We will be gathering at 9.15am in Lichfield Cathedral and finishing at 12.15pm. You are most welcome to stay and join the Cathedral 12.30pm Eucharist
