The Revd Dominic Stone, the Team Vicar of Marchington, Marchington Woodlands, Kingstone and Leigh, has been charged with 16 counts of making indecent photographs of a child contrary to Section 1A of the Protection of Children Act 1978. He is currently on police bail and is due to appear before magistrates at Burton upon Trent on Tuesday 10th November.
In accordance with the Diocese of Lichfield’s child protection policy and the procedures contained within the Clergy Discipline Measure, Dominic Stone has been suspended from duty since February 2009. The suspension, which should be seen as a neutral act, continues.
As the matter is now sub judice, the Diocese of Lichfield will not be making any further statement until the conclusion of the legal proceedings.
