Do you care about your local community?
Many within the church are sensing that God is calling us to some kind of community ministry, to be part of God’s engagement with our wider neighbourhood. This calls for leaving the ‘four walls’ of our comfortable church environments and going into the communities to be of practical support.
Many are hurting in our local communities. Like Jesus, we need to address the practical needs around us. In so doing, people will see the reason for our faith and be inspired to faith in Jesus themselves.
Do you believe that God can use you to make a difference?
Many Christians want to make a difference but are unsure of how to begin. If this is you, then the new Community Ministry Course could be for you. It runs as either the second year of the Diocesan Lay Ministry Training Scheme, or as a “stand alone” course for those who are interested.
There are three, eight week, terms which will begin in October 2008. The course meets in Doxey, Stafford, on Thursday evenings from 7.30-9.30pm.
